Charity for the Westcountry Equine Fair

South West Equine Protection, (SWEP), is a unique charity that has been rescuing and rehabilitating wild moorland ponies from both Dartmoor and Bodmin moor for over 20 years. SWEP manage a range of welfare issues, neglected and emaciated ponies, those having difficulties foaling, abandoned foals and the ever increasing number of ponies involved in road traffic collisions.

SWEP is dedicated to promoting the welfare of moorland ponies, by raising awareness through education.

The charity currently has over 300 ponies out in loan homes and 36 at their rehabilitation yard.  SWEP attend and monitor the drifts, markets and assist with re-homing of foals that are facing an uncertain future.
